Jeff has been doing very well at Oklahoma City University and has been the top of his class. He has decided that he would love to eventually teach law or political science. (He certainly has the talent for teaching and will be great at it!) As he has been talking with his professors and other lawyers about this plan, they have encouraged him to transfer schools. His grades have made it possible to attend a higher ranked law school that will give him the opportunities to pursue this path. Therefore, we will be transfering schools this fall.
The bitter: We are so sad to leave Oklahoma! We have loved it here! We have loved the people, the professors, the ward, the friends, the experiences, and all the wonderful memories we have made. We have grown closer to each other and have enjoyed all the adventures of living here. It will be so hard to leave! But, as much as I hate it, I know that I will love the adventures the future holds. I am just trying to cope with the change and leaving it all to become memories. We won't know what school he will be going to until July and since our lease is up at the end of May, we have decided to move to Utah for the summer to save money and wait to see where we are headed this fall.
The sweet: We get to be closer to family! We are very excited to be able to spend time with our families this summer! (I am sure Aliyah won't mind being spoiled by her grandparents and all her aunts and uncles!) We are looking forward to all the fun this summer will bring. It will definitely be great to be with all of them again! We have missed them a lot!
More Sweet...
I had my first Mother's Day! It was so wonderful! I was just overwhelmed all day long at the blessing of being a Mother! I am so grateful for my beautiful daughter! I love her more than words can express! I am so grateful for a wonderful husband! He is the best Daddy ever! I also reflected on both my Mom and Jeff's Mom and was filled with gratitude for them and all they have done for me. Being a Mom, I can now see how much love they have for their children. It was such an amazing day. Jeff was so good to me with cute cards, fantastic gifts, and made me a delicious breakfast! Aliyah was such a great daughter and slept through the night! What a great gift she gave me - sleep! Here are some cute pictures we took of her and gave our Moms for Mother's Day.

I understand. I'm not a fan of change either, especially when my life seems just 'up in the air.'
Aliyah is so darn cute. I think maybe I should meet her this summer if we end up over there. Will's family is from Provo so we should be around *sometime*
She has got THE cutest chubby fingers! I'm the opposite of you. I love change and crave the opportunity to adapt to a new surrounding. It's one of the reasons I loved Taiwan so much, it would have taken me a lifetime to adapt to everything. Every day was such an adventure. Way to go Jeff on the grades and the new opportunity!
I am excited you are coming back to Utah for the summer. It would be great to spend some time together and have our babies hang out. She is so cute!
We are so excited for this change! We have missed you guys so much and are so excited to be close to you again! Those pictures of Aliyah are so cute! Did you take them yourself or have them professionally done? Can't wait to see you!
Happy Mother's Day, Michelle! Aliyah is so adorable. I love the picture of her with the daisy headband.
Good luck with the move.
