Counting our blessings!

We are so blessed! I just wanted to share a few of the many blessings we have received!
The blessing of school
I'm so grateful for all the hard work Jeff has put into Law school. He got his grades back from last semester and received all A's and one A-! We are so excited! And to top that, his class rank was #1 out of 203 law students!!! It can't get any better than that! I am so proud of him! He did a great job balancing school, studying, church, and family. Way to go Jeff!
The blessing of health
We had our last ultrasound the end of January and the doctor said our little girl looks healthy! They had been worried about her stomach and had us go in for one last check before she is born, but everything looked great! The doctor couldn't find any problems! We are so grateful for all the prayers in her behalf and recognize this as a wonderful blessing. Isn't she cute?!!! We are excited to meet her in person next month! The doctor says she weighs 5 lbs already!

The blessing of a warm home and power! (And no school!!!!)
We had an ice-storm hit Oklahoma last week. This was our first real ice-storm and it was a little scary! We could handle the snow, but the ice was just crazy! It gets very humid and foggy outside and then with the freezing cold temperatures, the ice just freezes on every surface! The roads are really slick and dangerous. We were sliding all around just trying to walk to our mailbox! Many people lost power, but we were blessed and had power throughout the storm. The best part about the ice-storm...no school and no work!!! We spent the week together as they closed the schools and many businesses! We loved it! Just like an extra vacation. Too bad it was cold outside!
Our car antenna covered in ice
This next picture is not a broken window. It's just a picture of trying to scrape the ice off of our car window. It took Jeff about a half hour!
This is the grass covered in ice. Very crunchy!
After the ice, a couple days later came the snow! We were excited to see snow in Oklahoma!
It wasn't great packing snow. It reminded me of snow from a snow globe.

The blessing of life (and my wonderful husband!) It was Jeff's 26th Birthday on January 26th. (His golden birthday). This was a fun birthday! The ice-storm hit that afternoon, so they cancelled his last class and he got to come home early from school to celebrate his birthday! Because he was 26 on the 26th, he recieved 26 birthday cards in the mail! He then got 26 birthday presents starting with each letter of the alphabet (because there are 26 letters in the alphabet). His presents ranged from "A" for apostle art (a framed picture of the first presidency), to "F" Fiddler on the Roof DVD, to "S" sweater and snickers, to "X" for X-tra pair of socks to "Z" for zingers. We were going to go out to eat for dinner (Chinese - his favorite) but because of the ice, we were stuck in our apartment. So I just made a chinese meal for him and we enjoyed the evening at home. I am very grateful for him and his wonderful life and example! I feel blessed to have him as my husband and best friend - forever!

Phooey! I didn't know you were supposed to get all those presents on a golden birthday! It's too late for me now, by 12 years!

I wonder why my husband never thinks of things like that for me. :) Just kidding. I guess you can also be grateful that his golden year was 31. :) It is fun to see how you guys are doing so far away. Good luck with everything.

So so so cute, Michelle! I love what you did for his golden b-day. I'd never heard of them until last year, and I was sad because I'd missed Jake's. So excited to see the new babe!

I'm so grateful to hear that you baby girl is healthy. I was concerned for you guys. What a blessing!!! We've had ice storms here in Ithaca too. They're definitely weird, and an experience to try to scrape off of your car windows.
