Remembering those who served our country.
We went to Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day. It was a very humbling experience. Memorial day was such a neat day to go and remember. Every time I go there, I am overwhelmed with emotion. I am full of gratitude for all those who have served our country and fought for freedom. There are little, white tombstones as far as the eye can see, each one representing a life given in service to this country. And this is just one of the many cemeteries where soldiers are buried. We learned that it took the soldiers 3 hours to put up all those little flags on every grave. It's such a sacred ground.
After being outside in the hot 91 degree temperatures with high humidity, we decided that the best place for our Memorial Day picnic was in our air conditioned front room.
Aliyah tried some Nacho Cheese Doritos and loved them! Yum! They are my favorite too. (Her arm got all orange from reaching down into the bag!)

I LOVE your family. Your pictures are so cute! I love nacho cheese Doritos too!
How do you take the pictures of your whole family while you're out? Do you ask someone, or use a timer? I love that you catch some with EVERYONE! Although, my favorite picture is the one with Aliyah at Arlington. It gives me goosebumps. I've been to Arlington and it IS amazing! I love her standing there looking toward all the graves! neat picture
My favorite picture is also the same as Amy's. I love Arlington there is such a special feeling there. Such a fun outing!
