On Wednesday (March 2) we went to see the National Cathedral.
Aliyah reading up on the sights. I guess we've turned her into quite the little adventurer. She is always so good going along with her parent's different outings. She has done a lot in her short span of almost 2 years!
Located on a hill overlooking DC. The building was stunning!
It was nice weather so we walked the grounds before going inside.
It's so large!
It's an Episcopalian Cathedral, but has been built to house all religions of the Nation.
Thus, a statue of George Washington as you enter.
Beautiful stain glass windows! They had both historic and religious scenes, as well as elegant designs.
A lot of details were put into this building.
The organ pipes and the light from the stained glass windows.
A statue of Lincoln
The hallways looked like a castle so Aliyah loved it! She also loved dancing in the colorful lighting from the stained glass window.
It was a magnificent building.
But even with all the beauty, it just seemed empty without the Spirit there.
After the Cathedral, we went down by the Potomac and had our lunch. It was a bit windy, but great to enjoy a picnic together.
Aliyah loved watching the airplanes, boats, and birds go by.
We love having Daddy home for Spring break!
