On Saturday, March 12, we decided to go to the National Zoo for a pre-celebration of Aliyah's 2nd birthday. She was so excited and anxious to see the panda bears (her favorite) and all the other animals.
We started out with the lions and tigers.
We then worked our way to her favorite - the panda bears. We didn't get a good picture of them, but we got to see the panda bears eating bamboo. After watching them, we found a spot right above the pandas (a picnic lookout area) and were able to watch them as we ate our lunch! It was great! We didn't get pictures of that though.

Then we went to the gorillas and orangutans
While there we were able to see the orangutan swing across the zoo, right over us! It was so neat to see it in action!
They have these ropes out for the orangutans to move about like they would in the wild.
After he climbed down and went inside, probably for a snack.
It was quite the "wild" day! We had a lot of fun!
