Knowing that our time in this wonderful area was short and numbered, we wished to memorialize our experiences, visit a few places we had not yet visited, relive and rekindle special memories, experience certain places with Hailey as well, and prepare to close this chapter in our life by making one last trip into D.C.
Jeff spent two years riding public transportation. I think that we will even miss the metro train system.
We stopped by Jeff's campus one last time. Aliyah played in the courtyard.
Some of Jeff's students gave us a gift card to a higher-end restaurant in D.C. called Founding Farmers (one that we certainly could not afford). We had some unusual food; let's say that the place was not use to us and we were not use to it (I wonder if we were the first people to bring kids into their restaurant). Anyhow, it was a new and interesting experience.
We then strolled by the White House.
Afterwards, we visited the Old Post Office and climbed its tower.
The view from the top is pretty spectacular and does not require a ticket. In fact, this place is like a hidden gem because it is not as busy as going to the top of the Washington Monument, but you still get a good view of the city.
It was nice to get a good view of this amazing and historic city again.
Afterwards, we strolled down memory lane by walking along the National Mall. Along the way we stopped at the Washington Monument.
Aliyah enjoyed playing in a water fountain nearby (it was a rather hot and humid day).
We then visited the WWII Memorial.
Virginia is now a State (or Commonwealth) that we can claim as our own.
Finally, we visited the monument that is our favorite and special to us: the Lincoln Memorial.
We were able to show it to Hailey and take a family picture.
For us, this was fitting way to close one chapter of our life. We have grown so much from our experiences out her. We are grateful to have been able to show Hailey some of the places that our dear and special to our hearts. We are very grateful to have been born in the United States of America.

That's so awesome! It's my dream to go back there, if I ever go, Ill have to remember about the old post office. That's so great! I hope Aliyah will be able to remember something, what a great experience!!
D.C. is so beautiful! We are 10 months away from moving for residency and I'm already so sad that we have to leave this place! I guess we just have to be happy that we got to enjoy such fun times here!:)
