Road Trip - Day 4

We began the last leg or day of our trip by visiting the Capitol Building in Lincoln, Nebraska. Michelle lived here for four years while her dad was in Dental School. She lit up as she showed Jeff the Cornhusker's football stadium and pointed out certain places.

We were so impressed with our 2-year-old and our 2-month-old. Grandma and Mommy had prepared travel bags for Aliyah, and they helped out a lot.

We stopped in Western Nebraska to get one of the famous Runzas. They are similar to a Philly Sandwich, but they are enclosed in the bread like a Hot Pocket.

As we crossed over into Wyoming, we pulled out the portable DVD player (for the first time on the trip) and let Aliyah watch a movie. As you can see, she was riveted.

We then stopped in Cheyenne, Wyoming and visited the Capitol Building.

Along I-80 in Wyoming, they have some rocks that are really neat to see. They carved Lincoln into one of them.

Getting closer to Utah, we got an ice-cream cone at the Little America Hotel. It brought back memories of when we stopped there with Aliyah when we moved back to Utah from Oklahoma.

In Evanston, we stopped at Tacotime (for Michelle's sake). Finally, as the sun began to set, we crossed the border into Utah. We made it! This was such an enjoyable family trip. We are very glad that the four of us did it together. We are grateful that grandpa and grandma drove the truck for us so that we could. We are ready to begin another adventurous chapter in our life.

I'm sorry I haven't read the blog in a while, I've been having withdrawals! LOL

What a great trip! I'm so glad they were great for you, I remember moving back and forth from here to back east and it was so miserable for me, I'm sure my mother was upset, haha.

(Liz) and I think it's so cute about Aliyah and the ice cream cone and the DVD player, she looks so into it! Some great landmarks too!!!

We're glad you're back here in Utah and my mother told me about the great experience at Jayce's Eagle Scout ceremony. God Bless and we hope to see you soon!
