We decided we wanted a Thomson holiday. August seemed like a great month. Not a lot of holidays, plus, if we had it the weekend before school started, it would give the kids something to look forward to at the end of summer. At first we had a hard time deciding what the theme of our holiday would be until it hit us one day...we love Disney...what about a Disney Day?!
It was so fun planning and preparing for Disney Day! I made a few decorations for the house and we planned our activities and menu. We celebrated Friday, August 31, 2012.
For breakfast we had Mickey Mouse/Minnie Mouse pancakes and eggs and bacon
After breakfast we took the girls to the Disney Store at City Creek.
We had so much fun looking around and playing with all the toys!
We bought some cute Mickey and Minnie place mats to use for Disney Day.
We stopped quickly by the temple and the reflection pool. There were a lot of brides there that day and Aliyah loved admiring their dresses.
When we got home we started working on making our own homemade Tigger Tails.
For lunch we had Ariel Seashell Pasta and Fairy Godmother Wands (Bibbity, bobbity, boo wands)
While the girls were taking their nap we got things ready for the evening.
Jeff had decorated the table so fun with a few of our Disney things.
One of the decorations I had made for our apartment.
After the girls took their naps we let them open their Disney Day present.
The girls were so excited! Aliyah got a Disney Princess Cupcake Game.

Hailey got a cute little Minnie Mouse and Minnie's kitty cat
Daddy got us Toy Story Mania for the Wii. We played with the toys and games for a bit and then it was time for our Disney Dinner!
We had Cinderella's Royal Coach Soup Bowls and Aurora berries
After Dinner we ate our Tigger Tails while watching Aladdin.
Daddy and Mommy's were orange, Aliyah wanted a blue Tigger Tail and Hailey had the pink one.
Delicious!!!
Hailey loved that she had her own!
After the Tigger Tails were gone and cleaned up, we spread out blankets and pillows and had a slumber party while watching Cinderella II. (We ended up all sleeping in our own beds later that evening)
What a fun first Disney Day! We really enjoyed our holiday and look forward to many, many more!
Happy Disney Day!!!

Hey, Cuz! What a coincidence! We also had what we called our first Disney Staycation in August. I'm hoping to blog about it in the next couple of weeks (I'm still trying to catch up -- we had a busy, busy summer). Your Disney Day looked like a lot of fun.
Your girls are so beautiful! Miss you!
That's awesome!
