Gettysburg

Over Thanksgiving break we went to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. We had been watching a documentary on the Civil War to learn more about some of the historic sites here and thought we would go see where the turning point for the Union took place. This is the place where many soldiers fought and died in what remains the largest battle ever on the continent.

There are a lot of memorials around the grounds dedicated to soldiers from every state. This is one honoring the Pennsylvania soldiers.

The Gettysburg Cemetary. This is where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address.

This is an American Holly tree. It was beautiful! The berries on this tree reminded us of a well decorated Christmas tree.

This is one of our favorite pictures of us from our trip - sitting with Mr. Lincoln
