Thanksgiving

For our Thanksgiving, we spent the day in DC walking around the memorials and seeing the Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed the day looking around without a large crowd.
They had just opened the Christmas display at the Botanical Gardens. They had poinsettas, Christmas animal shaped plants, and a fun train display. They used plant materials to make model memorials and mini displays around the train set.

Aliyah liked watching the train go around.

Later that evening we had our Thanksgiving feast!
Jeff and I had fun cooking our own Turkey, rolls, yams, mashed potatoes and gravy.

We had a mixed berry pie for dessert.

YUM!!! It was delicious!

We enjoyed starting our own traditions, but we missed our families a lot!
Here is Aliyah with our Thankful Turkey.
If you look close, you can see her top teeth showing in her cute little grin!

Happy Thanksgiving!

You made the most BEAUTIFUL pie! I am totally envious. My pie crust falls under the category of "nice try, better luck next year". Aliyah is so cute and growing up so fast!

It looks like you had a fun Thanksgiving. I still haven't cooked a turkey by myself. I really want to try but everbody else always cooks the turkey. We sure missed you guys at Thanksgiving. I am so glad that you were able to make the best of it and I am sure that you guys are growing closer as a family. We love you and I love all the cute pictures that you posted!
