On Tuesday, July 6th, we made some sugar cookies to celebrate the 4th. Aliyah loved helping! Her favorite part about helping was eating the dough and frosting! We would roll out the dough together (she would say "roll, roll, roll" as she moved the rolling pin back and forth a few inches), then she would quickly grab a handful of dough and put it in her mouth and say "mmm!" while I grabbed the cookie cutters. (There is no dough in these pictures because I didn't want her to eat it all while I took a picture!)
She liked to push the cookie cutters down and even wanted to use the spatula. She did a great job with it and ate any pieces that were left. She liked making stars, hearts, and bells.
That evening, after Daddy came home from his internship, we iced the cookies. Aliyah loved this part too!
As you can tell, most of her frosting didn't make it to the cookies. YUM!!! That was delicious and fun!

MMMmm sugar cookies! Looks delicious. Such a fun little activity for a one year old, I would eat the dough while you were taking pictures too. Are you coming to Utah soon? I heard Amanda got engaged. If the wedding is in Utah and you do get to come, I would love to see you. You have been on my mind a lot lately. I love the fun memories we made together.
