Happy Flamingo Day!
Flamingo Day is a holiday started by my sisters. They wanted another holiday to celebrate during the summer. I don't know all the details of how it came about, but on July 22 (because 22 can look like flamingos - if you use your imagination) we celebrate Flamingo Day.
This year we had fun texting, mailing, and e-mailing pictures of flamingos and sending our wishes for a great day. Mom sent some fun flamingo plates, napkins, and a banner to decorate with.
For dinner, we had sea shell noodles, strawberry muffins, pink fruit salad, and pink lemonade. For dessert we had pink cake! I surprised Jeff by getting him some shrimp and letting him eat it all by himself! (I don't like sea food, but I figured it was Flamingo Day!) He surprised me and got me a new water filter! (Our other one was broken.)
We had a pretty good evening, despite Aliyah and Jeff both being sick. Aliyah has been sick this past week and Jeff just came down with it yesterday. Not fun.

How fun! Kate would love this holiday.
I love the July 2002 picture where you all look so LITTLE/YOUNG! What a fun holiday to celebrate in July. I guess it could be celebrated twice a year Feb. 2 would be 2-2 and would look like a flamingo also.
I want to start celebrating flamingo day! Too much fun!!
