Our second stop was Jamestown.
They had fun "hands on" exhibits such as this area that show how the Native Americans lived back then. Aliyah had fun exploring everything here.

Aliyah wanted a turn
There was also an area where they had replicas of the ships the colonists sailed on. We thought it was fun exploring the ships.
They also had a replica of the Jamestown fort we could walk around in.
They even did a demonstration of how they used to shoot musket rifles. (Not Aliyah's favorite)
We tried on the armor. It was heavy!
Too heavy for Aliyah! She just had fun giving it to us to wear.
The outside of the fort.
They had a really neat museum with a lot of artifacts, history, and the stories of Pocahontas, John Smith and the other colonists. We learned a lot!
We then went to the original site of Jamestown. They are doing an archeological dig of the area so we were only able to do a quick drive in the area and then we were able to go to a glass blowing demonstration. It was really neat to see.
Jamestown was interesting and fun for all of us!

That's so awesome! I would love to see it! It fascinates me, but at the same time I'm grateful for modern conveniences!! I loved the butter churning part! :P
