Jeff is done with finals!!!!!! We are so happy! It was a hard semester for all of us. He ended up having 3 of his finals in 2 days. It was a bit stressful, but nice to have over! He also just finished his 8,000 word paper this last week too, so he is officially done with everything for this semester. Only one more to go!!! On Wed Dec 15, we decided to do a little visit into DC to celebrate.
We went to the Theodore Roosevelt Island to see the monument. We want to come back and explore some more when it isn't so cold. It's a beautiful place!
We also went to the Botanical Gardens to see their Christmas train exhibit. This year they did the great wonders of the world. They are all made out of plant materials.
Here we are in France...
Aliyah loved watching the trains. (In the background is the Taj Mahal in India)
Aliyah and Daddy in Tikal, Guatemala.
After the Botanical Gardens, we walked across the street to the Capitol building and saw the Christmas tree. (You know that Aliyah is obsessed with princesses when she kept calling the Capitol the "castle"). She loved the big Christmas tree. This year it was decorated by the state of Wyoming.
We then walked over to the Supreme Court Building and saw their tree. It was also huge and very beautiful. This building is just so beautiful inside. We enjoyed a little lunch there in their cafeteria before heading back to our car.

It was such a fun day together!

Those trees are beautiful and I loved the pictures from the garden. I bet it was amazing. What a fun thing to be able to do with your hubby and little girl.
